Lamborghini’s getting ready to reveal their new Urus, the company’s first ever crossover SUV (though not their first SUV ever, that would be the LM001/002).
And to provide a little bit of a follow-up to the new Urus, which was first revealed in concept form back in 2012, AutoBlog reports the production model should strongly resemble the concept when it gets revealed in 2018.
The Urus will be built at Lamborghini’s home turf in Sant’Agata Bolognese, where they plan to churn out around 3,000 units per year. The brunt of their sales are expected to occur in China, Russia, the US and the UK.
Lamborghini’s CEO, Stephan WInkelmann, acknowledges that the Urus’ business case is sound, despite some tricky obstacles. Should the demand increase, Lamborghini’s prepared to even make a smaller crossover, similarly to how their corporate cousin, Porsche, introduced the Macan to supplement the Cayenne.
