Report: The Lincoln Continental to commence production soon at Ford’s Flat Rock plant

Some good news is hailing in from Lincoln as they recently confirmed with The Wall Street Journal that the Continental will begin production very soon at Ford’s Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan.

That’s the same plant currently building the Mustang and the Fusion. Speaking of which, the new Continental rides on the Fusion’s CD4 platform.

Lincoln still hasn’t revealed the full specifications to the Continental, especially whether or not the car will be front-, rear-, or all-wheel drive. But either way, the Continental is surely making a return and will even be made in a bespoke long-wheelbase form, only available to customers in China.

A launch date for us is supposedly scheduled for 2016.
