This really should come to no surprise given the fact that Tesla Motors is on the verge of revealing their first EV crossover model. But Mercedes-Benz is apparently interested in hopping on the EV bandwagon themselves to compete with Tesla, next to BMW and other manufacturers.
According to a new report from Autovisie, who sat down with Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche, Mercedes-Benz is expressing their desire and want to build an electric crossover, though as of now, Stuttgart is only studying the prospect.
Zetsche obviously was coy on his specifics, keeping his cards close. But he did hint that the prospect is still a ways away from taking fruition and if anything, it could be based off of the next-generation GLE.
