The facelifted 2016 BMW 3-Series Sport Line gets detailed with lots of pics

BMW recently decided to spill the beans on the updated, facelifted 2016 BMW 3-Series with some commentary and lots and lots of pictures.

Because the current F30 BMW 3-Series has been with us since 2011 as a 2012 car, don’t expect much of a change other than some modifications to the aesthetics, interior bits, and packaging to keep the car fresh.

What do these changes consist of? Just the usual mixture of visual tweaks to the headlights, taillights, front and rear bumpers, and some new alloy wheel designs.

Otherwise, it’s still motivated by the same range of gasoline and diesel engines as the outgoing version, all mated to a ZF-sourced eight-speed Steptronic automatic. Oh, and BMW’s ridiculously senseless nomenclature theme also gets implemented, with the top-range 3-Series gaining the name, “340i,” despite being powered by a 3.0L inline-six.

Remember when the model numbers reflected the engine displacement? Pepperidge Farm remembers…Though judging by the contents of the photo gallery, we highly prefer the high-definition pictures of all the previous 3-Series models.

Oh the good ‘ol days.
