It’s 2015 and by now, we’re apparently supposed to have things such as self-adjusting sneakers, flying cars, and hoverboards, or at least envisioned by the famous Hollywood blockbuster, Back to the Future II.
Ok, while the future may have not panned out as they anticipated in 1989, Lexus is actually making an effort to at least make one of the visionary technologies portrayed in the second installation to the film franchise, a reality: the hoverboard.
Lexus revealed a video that teases their own real hoverboard, which will be demonstrated by professional skater, Ross McGouran.
The video showcases the hoverboard prototype as it floats a few inches off of the ground, along with some feedback from McGouran. But it doesn’t show the two in action, which is probably saved for the full-length video later on.
It’s apparently powered by liquid nitrogen cooled super conductors and permanent magnets, enabling levitation for a friction-free experience. The future is now.
Check out the video below.
