Mercedes-Benz appears to be following their rivals in Munich, BMW, after the Bavarian automaker revealed a self-parking system at the Consumer Electronics Show for the i3.
More recently, Mercedes teased their own version of the system, which they say will be made available for the next-generation E-Class.
Like the system on the BMW i3, owners will be able to tell their car to park in tight spots using their smartphones and the accompanying app. Mercedes says this would not only be convenient for drivers, it’ll also allow them to park in spaces where doors are unable to open. Additionally, drivers will be given control over the car and can tell it to move forwards and backwards while also providing steering control.
