The automobile industry has a habit of one-upping itself, especially with superlatives such as top speed records and horsepower figures. Those superlatives were actually once held by the famous Bugatti Veyron supercar.
That said, Bugatti’s expected to do no other but one-up itself with the new Veyron successor.
Tentatively called the Chiron, word from CARandDRIVER is that the follow-up to the Veyron should not only have more power, but a much higher top speed than the Veyron’s fastest variant, the Super Sport World Record Edition. The Super Sport currently holds the top speed record at 267 mph after reportedly being electronically limited to 258 mph.
In addition to the extra power, the Chiron should come with beefier brakes, improved aerodynamics, and drivability, both for the road and the track.
However, despite the new car plans, particularly with the Veyron, we shouldn’t expect any new models to surface, including the rumored “super sedan,” an attempt to essentially make a four-door Veyron.
