A new spy shot surfaced of what appears to be the next next chapter in the large, front-engined V12 saga, following the current F12 Berlinetta.
Ferrari’s in the midst of revitalizing their current lineup, and that first began with the revised California T from a while back. Not only did that give the California some updated looks, it introduced Ferrari’s first turbocharged motor since the F40.
The 488GTO followed after the California to feature another Ferrari turbocharged motor, a heavily reworked version of the 458 Italia, both in coupe and droptop form, now the F12 is next.
A new F12 has been known to be on the way for a reveal in mid-September at the Frankfurt Motor Show and this seems to be a pre-production model, spotted in the wild. This could be deciphered from the heavily modified exterior, which looks like someone took an ax to the current F12 Berlinetta. Though unlike the California T and the 488, Ferrari said they’re going to maintain natural aspiration for their V12, which in this new F12’s case, should be reworked still displacing 6.3L, but with an extra 30hp for a grand total of 760hp.
Also, diet is to be factored in, which could reduce the F12’s weight by a whopping 441lbs (200kg).
Either way, we won’t know until it gets revealed at Frankfurt this fall.
