Report: BMW’s new X7 could get a “super extra luxurious and nice” version

BMW’s in the works with a big Range Rover competitor designed to sit above the X5 and X6 as a full-size crossover SUV, while also setting rivals such as the next-generation Mercedes-Benz GL and Audi Q7 in its sights.

However, much like how the next-gen Mercedes-Benz GL is to gain a more luxurious variant, dubbed the Mercedes-Maybach GLS, and with the full-size Range Rover Autobiography currently available, BMW is expected to follow suit. It’s no doubt that the super-luxo full-size crossover and SUV market is beginning to boom, with other players such as the Bentley Bentayga on the way.

According to Drive, the new BMW should gain a third-row of seating as well as a ton of upscale features and craftsmanship, echoing the concept of a BMW 7-Series on stilts. This also means we can expect a huge array of additional features such as massage seating with heating and air condition for all, and a full-scale rear-entertainment system.

Not much else is known about this super luxo X7, but it could possibly be powered by BMW’s latest 6.0L V12. It’ll be really interesting to see how this segment plays out since really, the end-all-be-all in luxurious SUVs involved either the Mercedes-Benz GL or the Range Rover. It’s hard to see it any other way…
