Land Rover’s not happy that brands like Bentley and soon-to-be Rolls-Royce, and Mercedes-Benz are tramping all-up in their territory of luxurious crossover SUVs, simple because the Range Rover has always been the buy-word for such a car.
Wanted what was essentially a Mercedes-Benz S-Class for luxury off-roaders and SUVs? Answer: Range Rover, unequivocally.
Now, because the competition is heating up and they’ll no longer be monopolizing their own market, Land Rover supposedly has plans to one-up themselves with an even more luxurious variant to the Range Rover.
So far, the Range Rover could be had in SVAutobiography form, which isn’t exactly a slouch either with being a super-luxurious version of the full-size Range. It only starts at a price just shy of $200,000. So the plan with this new version, is for it to cost even more, and be more luxurious. How?
By offering more personalization options, probably with additions such as coming with its own team of indentured servants looking to migrate from the third- to the first-world, its own butler, and maybe even its own form of unobtainium, and an endless supply of Beluga caviar and water crackers made from gold.
Who knows…either way, the inherent response for inquiring about such a high-speced version of the Range Rover, simply would end up being, “more than you can afford pal,” regardless.
