Video: Watch a Volvo truck get wrecked by a wrecking ball, then given a new life

Semi-trucks are some of the most eloquently designed automobiles on the road. Built with toughness and durability in mind, they are the lifelines of the road, transporting everything from supplies, to cars, and even illegal immigrants.

So they have to withstand the sort of abuse of dealing with nearly everything one could encounter when being put to use nearly three-quarters of the day, for almost all 365 days of the year. This means they’re built to high standards of durability and ease of repair, since anything could happen on the road.

And to show off how capable their trucks are, as well as doubling as a promotional feature for Ryder truck repair services, the company decided to basically kill a Volvo semi, part of which involves wrecking it with a, uhm, two-ton wrecking ball. Then, Ryder grabs a hold of the damaged truck to put their technicians to the test to see if it can be repaired in under 24 hours for duty the next day.

Watch what happens after the jump.
