It’s about the time of the year, where the contestants for the 2016 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year awards have been announced, ahead of the official ceremony at the 2016 North American International Auto Show.
The cars selected for the award include the new new 2016 BMW 7-Series, the 2016 Cadillac CT6, 2016 Chevrolet Camaro, 2016 Chevrolet Malibu, 2016 Chevrolet Volt, 2016 Honda Civic sedan, 2016 Kia Optima, 2016 Mazda Miata MX-5, 2016 Nissan Maxima, and the 2016 Toyota Prius.
The trucks nominated are as follows: the new Ford Edge, Honda HR-V, Honda Pilot, Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Renegade, Kia Sorento, Lexus RX, Mazda CX-3, Nissan Titan XD, Tesla Model X, Toyota Tacoma, and Volvo XC90.
The list will be reduced through a panel of 57 jurors next month, when they’ll narrow down the contestants to just three finalists within the two categories. The final awards scheduled to be handed out on January 11 in Detroit.
