German media, Die Zeit, recently spoke with BMW’s current head honcho who confirmed the eventual arrival of a third addition to the BMW i lineup.
Previous rumors pointed to the possibility of a new i5 model to sit in between the i3 and the i8 with the premise that the i5 would be a more spacious and larger i3, designed specifically to haul people and their things.
“Soon we will bring in addition to the BMW i3 another electric i-model on the market,” Harald Kreuger said.
Obvious details were kept to a minimum since auto execs don’t like to share plans for future products. But either way, the BMW i line won’t be consisting of just the i3 and the i8 any more in the near future.
When are we to expect it? Beats us, but projections in the past indicated within the next few years.,
