Some of the biggest news coming from Great Britain is the return of TVR, which got a revival thanks to entrepreneurs, Les Edgar and John Chasey.
Ever since the company’s ownership was bought back from Russian tycoon, Nikolai Smolensky, Edgar promised to bring TVR back with some new sports cars. And recently, a new video surfaced of said new TVR sports car’s new motor in action on the dynamometer. Though this specific version of the engine is destined for TVR’s new motorsports GT racing version, due for competition at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2017. The road-going version is likely to get a detuned version of this motor.
It’s a Ford-sourced 5.0L Coyote V8, making it the same mill as the current Ford Mustang GT and Shelby variants. However, it’s been given a lovely treatement by Cosworth, which means a new head and thus, new valvetrain for improved performance.
The car as a whole is also said to be developed in cooperation with Gordan Murray.
Check out the engine on the dyno after the jump.
