In a move contrary to the trend, it seems Porsche will be planning to offer a manual option for the next-generation 911 GT3 sports coupe.
Today, the current generation of 911 GT3 only comes with a seven-speed Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (still can’t pronounce that to this day) dual-clutch automatic for the sake of performance and quick shift times–it does outperform the human’s ability to change gears.
According to CARandDRIVER, the new 911 GT3 should sport a traditional six-speed manual, which is odd since the standard 911 comes with Porsche’s latest seven-speed manual gearbox.
That six-speed manual in the next GT3 should be paired with a naturally-aspirated 3.8L flat six similarly to the current model.
