Report: No autonomous driving tech for the Lamborghini Urus

Lamborghini Urus Concept Leaked

The Lamborghini Urus is the next-big thing expected from the Italian supercar maker and it marks a striking moment in the marque’s history since it’ll be their first-ever crossover SUV.

Though despite the general and increasing push for autonomous driving tech, the Urus will actually do without said tech, probably to reinforce the car’s purpose of being performance oriented and thus, for the driver.

Additionally, Lamborghini’s CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, said autonomous driving tech could hurt Lambo’s image as a supercar maker.

The Urus will be tuned specifically for performance on the road and should be made with all-wheel drive to boot, though a rear-wheel drive version isn’t out of the question, but it still has yet to be confirmed.

Power so far as we know should come from a likely Audi-sourced 4.0L twin-turbo V8, though revised to fit Lamborghini’s application.

Production is expected to commence in the second half of 2017 to rival the Bentley Bentayga as the world’s fastest crossover SUV.
