Amid the media frenzy of the reveal of the Tesla Model 3, CEO Elon Musk went on the Twitter wire to say that as of Saturday, 276,000 preorders were placed for the new sedan.

Prospective customers were allowed to place a refundable deposit of $1,000 for the Model 3, which is set to have an MSRP of around $35,000.
Additionally, some more details about Tesla’s hot new topic also surfaced with a report from Reuters suggesting that LG made an agreement with Tesla to supply the car’s massive and central infotainment display.
Other details include the launch of a rear-wheel drive model at first with an all-wheel drive dual-motor setup also in the works.
