Every once and a while, the world goes nuts over an overly strong man who fends for the title as the world’s strongest. And a man was tasked to pull a crap ton of weight to break a world record.
No, not a MAN truck, an actual man, like, a human being. That human being is Strongman champion, Magnus Samuelsson.
In his latest and most daunting task, Samuelsson attempts to help a Volvo Truck pull 827 tons worth of containers. But without getting too confused, the truck will be running and pulling some weight behind it and Samuelsson will help the truck complete the task. So no, Mr. Samuelsson isn’t 100% entirely pulling the mass himself.
The truck is a Volvo FH16 and in order to show off its latest tech with a toughness test, specifically the FH16’s new I-Shift transmission with a unique crawler gear setup.
The weight is split over a total of 20 trailers with two massive containers laid on top each, to equal around the projected weight of 827-tons. It’s also almost 1,000 feet long.
Admittedly, Samuelsson did have to make a few attempts as it was discovered that the truck’s hydraulic air-brake system failed. At the third attempt, Samuelsson finally was able to go at it.
Check out what happened after the jump.
