Giulietta engines to benefit from lower emissions without sacrificing performance
The 2015 Alfa Romeo Giulietta has been revised, with a series of improvements to its petrol and diesel engines resulting in improvements to fuel economy and emissions. A new Business Edition trim has also been added to the line-up
All engines in the Giulietta range are now Euro 6 compliant and all apart from the recently introduced 148bhp 2.0 diesel come with improvements to their CO2 emission and fuel economy figures.
The 1.6 JTDM-2 turbodiesel gets a power boost from 104bhp to 118bhp, with the 0-62mph time dropping by 1.3sec to 10.0sec and the top speed improving by 6mph to 121mph as a result.
Despite the increase in performance, CO2 emissions for the engine have dropped from 104g/km to 99g/km and combined economy improves from 70.6mpg to 74.3mpg, thanks to the use of a variable-geometry turbo charger and low-rolling-resistance tyres.
The 1.4 Multiair petrol engines also fall into lower emissions bands as a result of the changes.
All of the new engines are now available to order. Pricing remains unchanged, with the 118bhp 1.4 TB Progression starting at £18,450 and the 118bhp 1.6 JTDM-2 Progression costing from £19,500.
The new Business Edition trim Giulietta costs from £19,080. It features a 6.5in touchscreen infotainment and navigation system with 3D mapping, metallic paint and alloy wheels as standard on the 1.6 JTDM-2 diesel model.
