Autocar magazine 5 August preview

McLaren 675LT versus Porsche 911 GT3 RS; Nissan Juke-R 2.0 driven; Honda Civic Type R road test; Fiat's future plans revealed

This week's issue of Autocar, dated 5 August, includes one of the most highly anticipated twin tests of recent times, as McLaren's 666bhp 675LT takes on the latest Porsche 911 GT3 RS.

Costing £259,500, the 675LT is an homage to the original F1 GTR 'Longtail' that raced at Le Mans in 1997. It's powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8 engine, and production is limited to just 500 units - all of which have already been sold. Does the new McLaren have what it takes to beat the 493bhp Porsche 911 GT3 RS? Matt Saunders finds out.
