Jaguar is in the midst of developing their first-ever crossover SUV, originally previewed by the oddly handsome, XF-on-stilts, the C-X17 Concept.

According to a recent report from AutoCar, the new F-Pace isn’t the only crossover SUV in the works from Jaguar. Instead, the Coventry-based firm seeks to build an entire line of crossovers, to allow Jaguar to better compete with its German and Japanese rivals.
For example, “insiders” said they’re eyeing prospects like a competitor for the up and coming entry-level Audi Q1, while even a “coupe” version of the F-Pace is being developed to compete with the BMW X4 and the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe. But that’s not all either since there will supposedly be high-performance R and SVR variants.
Interestingly however, there are no plans for a larger, seven-seat SUV, presumably because Jaguar knows the Range Rover exists to fill this void. And of course, Jaguar’s a sister company to Land Rover these days.
As of now, we’re expecting a production F-Pace to surface next month at Frankfurt.
