The 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition sends the model off into the pages of history ~ All About Ford Mustang

You’ve probably heard it over and over again in a chant, screaming from the millions of fans and enthusiasts around the world, “the Mitsubishi Evo is dead, the Mitsubishi Evo is dead,” followed by modifiers such as, “the end is nigh,” and “what will we do,” as they also lament its eventual cease.

But it’s not over yet, Evo lovers, as Mitsubishi just announced a “Final Edition” 2015 Lancer Evolution, just to finally hammer the last nail into the coffin and send the Evo into the pages of history, for good.

Starting at a price of $37,995, the last ever 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution could be yours, but you’d need to jump on it quick since only 1,600 numbered Final Edition models will be made and sold.

Gaining some minor tweaks here and there, the Evolution’s 2.0L turbocharged and intercooled four-banger has been massaged to churn out 303hp and 305 lb-ft of torque, which sends power to all four wheels via Mitsu’s famous Super All-Wheel drive control system. Aiding the braking are new two-piece Brembo brakes, Bilstein shocks and Eibach springs alt all four corners, and standard dark chrome-painted Enkei alloys.

There’s also plenty to remind you that you’re in a Final Edition Evolution, such as a bespoke black headliner with matching pillars, sun visors, and roof handles, contrast red-stitching for the seats, steering wheel, and shift knob, the center console lid, and even the floormats and e-brake handle. Inside the center console, you’ll also find a special numbered plaque with the specific build number of each example.

So it’s not all over just yet, Evo fans, but if you’re a diehard lover of the Evolution and you don’t spring to scoop up one of these 1,600 examples, it might just be for you.

The 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition: Limited-production model bids farewell to legendary sports sedan

The Final Edition is based off the current GSR model featuring new enhancements and increases to horsepower and torque

Only 1,600 units will be sold in the U.S. market, each marked by a numbered plaque

Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA) today announced the details of the limited-production 2015 Lancer Evolution Final Edition. Arguably the originator of the four-door sports car genre, the Lancer Evolution has seen ten generations – three of which were sold in the U.S. over 12 years. To send it off in style, Mitsubishi Motors will offer 1,600 numbered Final Edition models to the U.S. market with a MSRP of $37,995.

The Lancer Evolution Final Edition is based off the current GSR model, with exterior and interior enhancements not previously offered on the GSR. The heart of the Final Edition is a 5-speed transmission paired with a turbocharged and intercooled DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder 2.0L engine, producing 303 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 305 lb-ft torque at 4,000 rpm. Performance is further enhanced by use of lightweight two-piece Brembo® brake rotors up front, accompanied by Bilstein shock absorbers and Eibach springs at all four corners. As with all 2015 Lancer Evolutions, the Final Edition model features Mitsubishi’s innovative and unmatched Super All-Wheel control system.

The Final Edition model receives exterior upgrades including a Final Edition badge in the rear, black painted aluminum roof, dark chrome painted Enkei® alloy wheels, gloss black center bumper and hood air outlet and dark chrome front grille surround. Final Edition models will be offered in four colors: new Pearl White, Rally Red, Mercury Gray and Octane Blue.

Inside, a numbered plaque on the center console denotes each of the 1,600 units created. In addition, Final Edition models receive a black headliner, pillars, sun visors and assist handles, and red accent stitching for sport seats, steering wheel, shift knob, console lid, floormats and e-brake handle.
