2015 Los Angeles: The refreshed Ford Escape shows up at the LA Convention Center

Ford decided to reveal a heavily revised Ford Escape for the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show recently.

Like most other mid-cycle generational updates, the new Ford Escape benefits from an updated design on both the interior and the exterior. But more importantly, the Ford Escape gets Ford’s all-new SYNC3 Connect infotainment system, which is anticipated to address most, if not all of the complaints and concerns over ergonomics and functionality with the first several versions of the system.

The exterior benefits from changes mainly to the front and rear ends of the crossover, while the interior also gets updated with the new SYNC 3 system and some minor tweaks, here and there.

But the changes are more than skin deep as two new EcoBoost mills are being offered on the updated Escape, a new base 1.5L EcoBoost and a new upper-tier 2.0L four-banger. The 1.5L mill replaces the 1.6L with 180hp and 185 lb-ft of torque on twist. Opting for the 2.0L EcoBoost four and you’re then presented with 245hp and 275 lb-ft, while a base 2.5L naturally-aspirated four is also available with 168hp and 170 lb-ft, a carryover mill.
