2015 Los Angeles: The Subaru Impreza Sedan Concept previews the next-gen Impreza sedan

2015 LA - Subaru Impreza Sedan Concept

Subaru caught some of the limelight at the 2015 Los Angeles International Auto Show to debut the new Impreza Sedan Concept.

As indicated by the name and point-blank obviousness, this is a straight-up preview of the next-generation Impreza sedan, which we hope will closely resemble the production model.

We say we hope since Subaru has done otherwise on the contrary, with the last WRX Concept being an example, where the WRX Concept provided strong hope of bringing the sexiest WRX-based Impreza ever to the showrooms, only for the production model to be a terribly watered down version of the original concept.

Subaru has yet to reveal the entirely new and next-generation of Impreza and its variants, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed.

Nonetheless, the Impreza Sedan Concept stylistically follows the way of the Impreza 5-Door Concept, with looks heavily inspired by the likes of the Legacy Concept as well as Subaru’s recent VIZIV-2 and VIZIV Future design studies. And needless to say, like the hatch concept, the sedan looks just as impressive and we just hope both the sedan and 5-door models maintain their looks all the way through to the production end.

Subaru didn’t say what will sit under the hood, but we shouldn’t expect too much of a stray from the traditional use of the naturally-aspirated and turbocharged flat-four engines.

Either way, Subaru, if you’re reading, just make the production models look as damn-close to the concepts as you can–we know you can.

SUBARU IMPREZA SEDAN CONCEPT MAKES WORLD DEBUT AT 2015 LOS ANGELES AUTO SHOW

Cherry Hill, N.J. –  Subaru of America, Inc. unveiled the Impreza Sedan Concept today at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The all-new Impreza will be the first example of Subaru’s next-generation vehicles using a new modular platform. The design is sportier and less angular than the previous generation Impreza, but with a powerful stance expressing Subaru’s new Dynamic x Solid design language. The new design direction hints at not only the new Impreza design, but of Subaru’s future models.

Main Features of Impreza Sedan Concept
The front, sides, and rear of the car are seamlessly joined to create a solid and muscular body that is inherent of Subaru design. Aerodynamic performance is achieved by blending functionality and styling, incorporating a integrated rear spoiler and functional from valance.  Well-placed character lines greatly enhance the dynamics of the compact sedan.  The Ruby Red Metallic color with glossy black accents represents a sporty and energetic impression.
  • Front
    • The Subaru family resemblance is immediately recognizable with the hexagonal grille, menacing hawk-eye headlights and aircraft inspired wing.
  • Sides
    • The flared fenders launch the sharp character line that run the length of the car.  A second, upswept character line along the lower door panels adds energy to the overall design theme. The 19” wheels are flush with the wheel arches, further establishing the car’s wide stance and the fender flares express the Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. These are key features of the concept’s dynamic new design.
  • Rear
    • The sharp character line flows seamlessly into the rear tail lamps from both sides and intersect at the rear.  The sleek new trunk lid enhances the sporty impression on the sedan.  The rear taillights share the same styling as the headlights with a wide and low illumination.
