Report: Details on the new [Hyundai] Genesis G90, the future Equus, released

2017 Hyundai - Genesis G90 Rendering

Hyundai released teasers of its new G90 luxury sedan, the first model to sport the company’s name for their newly established luxury sub-brand, Genesis.

Now, TheKoreanCarBlog apparently received the scoop one the G90s technical details, at least for the Korean Domestic Market.

According to the outlet, the new G90 sedan will also debut Hyundai’s latest 3.3L twin-turbocharged V6, a mill rumored to replace the company’s beloved 5.0L Tau V8. Though, it’s not certain that will happen since TheKoreanCarBlog also says the turbo mill will be added as another option, on top of the traditional and standard 3.8L GDI direct-injected, naturally-aspirated V6 and the flagship V8. As such, the 3.3L bi-turbo motor would be the middling engine.

The 3.8L V6 will continue to produce around 334hp, while the force-fed 3.3L V6 should put out around 370hp, and the 5.0L V8 should result around 425hp, if not slightly more to widen the power gaps a little more. All will be mated to Hyundai’s in-house eight-speed automatic, sending power to the rear wheels with the choice of all-wheel drive.

Hyundai’s most advanced Variable Control Suspension will keep body motions, handling, and ride quality in check with balance, while the G90 is also said to gain Hyundai’s most up-to-date advances in semi-autonomous technology.

Following the launch of the G90, Genesis will have at least four subsequent models to follow in the coming years. We’re really excited to see what else is in store, let alone experience the G90.
