Spy Shots: The newly anticipated Genesis G90 from Hyundai gets caught undisguised

2016 Hyundai Genesis G90 Spy Shots

Hyundai’s been known to be working on a new Equus in connection with their recently announced and newly launched Genesis luxury sub-brand, similarly to what Lexus is to Toyota. Not too long ago, the Korean automaker released digital renderings of what appeared to be the next-gen Equus, though following the launch of their Genesis brand, they colloquially called it the Genesis G90.

Now, it seems some spy shots of a pre-production model made it to the web and from the looks of things, the new Genesis G90 very clearly resembles the digital renderings. That said, it also provides us with a solid viewing of what to expect with this new Genesis G90.

The G90 is slated to be the successor to the Equus and as such, it is anticipated to be improved in many ways, beginning with the looks, which obviously take a huge leap forward with the new G90.

Rumors suggest the use of Hyundai’s latest 3.8L naturally-aspirated V6 as the base affair with around 330hp, while a mid-level 3.3L twin-turbo V6 arrives with the new G90, offering up around 365hp. Topping the range out should be the expected 5.0L Tau V8 revised to churn out a little more than 420hp. All three are should likely get Hyundai’s latest in-house eight-speed automatic, sending motivation to the rear axle. All-wheel drive is also rumored to arrive for the first time as well.

The G90 is expected to make a full debut for the Korean market in the coming months (or weeks) with sales commencing in international markets in 2016.
