The 2017 Jaguar F-Type just became a little more accessible, starts at $61,400

2016 Jaguar F-Type

The Jaguar F-Type is a luxury sports car and when it first was launched in convertible form, it rang up a nice and lofty price tag that was very much nearing the six-figure mark.

But now, Jaguar just made the lovely F-Type a little more accessible by introducing a new entry-level model, which starts at $61,400. For that price, you get a base model with the automaker’s supercharged 3.0L Ingenium V6 with 340hp and 332 lb-ft of twist on tap, mated to the company’s new six-speed manual transmission. The result is a 0-60 time of just 5.5 seconds.

Should you want the open-top version as well, that still commands a premium, though is still somewhat reasonably priced at $65,400. We say somewhat reasonable because when compared to the base Porsche 911 that the Jaguar seeks to compete with, the Jag is still more than $20,000 cheaper than the Porsche.

Comparatively speaking to the previous versions of the F-Type, it’s around $3,600 and $2,700 cheaper.
