2014 LA Auto Show Preview: The Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT get specialized

2016 Jeep® Grand Cherokee SRT Night

Jeep announced to be introducing some specialized editions of the Wrangler and the Grand Cherokee SRT, due for some introductory floor time at this year’s Los Angeles International Auto Show.

The 2016 Jeep Wrangler gains a new Backcountry edition, which starts life as a Wrangler Sahara and is then given a wicked purple-colored exterior, because why not. Then, to emphasize the Wrangler Backcountry’s off-road prowess, it’s given some other upgrades such as durable powder coated bumpers, rock rails, and some extra Backcountry decals to remind you that you’re not in a normal Wrangler Sahara.

It also gains some other enhancements to both the exterior and interior such as standard 17-inch Rubicon wheels painted in a gloss black finish an da black-painted hardtop. The interior also gains so updates with black leather and mesh seats with gray contrast stitching, and piano black accents for the trim bits.

The 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Night Edition is on the same page with exterior and interior upgrades, including a two-tone exterior with the choice of a Billet SIlver, Velvet Red, or Granite Crystal hue. The roof, window surrounds and the standard rear spoiler are all then treated with a gloss black. The inside too gets updated with a Black Laguna leather theme with contrast silver stitching, and more.

Otherwise, both cars remain mechanically the same.
