Spy Shots: A Porsche Panamera shooting brake gets spotted, teases future model

Porsche it seems wants to expand its Panamera portfolio with a version of the four-door that’s even more of a shooting brake…

Ok, when the Panamera first came out, Porsche touted it’s “shooting brake-like” design while being a front-engined four-door version of the 911. We as the press bought it, and so did the public as it easily became one of Porsche’s top-selling models.

So now, Porsche wants to give more and it appears to be taking form of a long-roof version of the Panamera. Now, I never thought the Panamera was a great looking car, but its polarizing looks didn’t hide how batshit insane-fast and fun to drive the Panamera is. And for some reason, just from the spy photos, I think Porsche could’ve cast a new light onto the Panamera for me.

Rumors have been abound for more variants of the Panamera to come, especially with the introduction of the Panamera Sport Turismo Concept from 2012. Now, these spy photos tell that it’s on its way to becoming a reality.

Not much else is known, but there also isn’t much more to expect than basically a second-generation Panamera with a longer roof and more storage space, perhaps making the ultimate road-going grocery getter and family hauler ever.

That’s because the next Panamera will most likely sport a similar line of V6 and V8 engines as the current model, but the new ones are anticipated to be turbocharged with electric turbo technology shared from Audi.

All in all, it sounds like a promising premise. I also can’t wait to see the future comparisons of hot luxury wagons.
