It seems the Tesla Model X crossover is off to a bit of a rough start, first with mixed critic reviews, and now a recall, according to The Verge.
The safety alarm is sounded off for the Model X’s third-row seating arrangement on some 2,700 models in total.
Some people in some lab coats found that the affected models’ third-row can fold forward in the event of a crash, presenting a safety issue. Adding to the difficulty for the logistics of the situation, most Model Xs affected have already been delivered.
The issue has been isolated to the manufacturing issue, claims Tesla, after European testing found the seat recliner latch failed after 16 tests.
