When Aston Martin revealed the racetrack-only Vulcan over a year ago, it certainly wooed and wowed the crowd because it looks spectacular. But the semi-sad thing about the Vulcan was that it’s a track toy and is not certified for legal road use.
So despite coughing up around $2.59 million USD, or 1.8 million GBP for one of the 24 Vulcans ever to be made, you won’t be able to pop down to the coffee shop to show off to your friends.
But this could change, according to AutoCar, who learned that Aston will be making a conversion kit for the Vulcan. The kit would make the car road-compliant so yes, you’d be able to wow everyone on the road and at your local coffee spot.
The word comes from Aston Martin’s CEO, Andy Palmer, who shared the word with some journalists at a conference. He did not however say how much the kit will cost additionally to the car, but being an Aston Martin Vulcan, it’ll probably cost as much as a fully-loaded Volkswagen GTI or two.
Nonetheless, Aston Martin, and partners on the project, engineering firm RML, said around four or five Vulcan owners opted for the kit. They’re currently working on the sales of the last two vehicles.
