Here’s the new 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon, which will be coming stateside

2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon

Mercedes-Benz has been one of the few automakers to continuously offer wagon variants of their popular models, like the C-Class and the E-Class. However, as of late, Mercedes has only been sending us the E-Class Wagon and because of the dwindling demand and interest from the mass market for wagons, there was a lot of uncertainty as to whether or not the next-generation E-Class Wagon would make it stateside.

That uncertainty can be laid to rest now as Mercedes-Benz just revealed the 2017 E-Class Wagon–and yes, it is coming to the states.

As you you can guess, the latest E-Class wagon is basically a long-roof version of the standard E-Class sedan, so you have the choice of some extra trunk room, which always comes in handy.

Overall, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon incorporates the sedan’s overall appearance, but with an extended rear and two-box design for extra practicality. The rear seats, for the sake of storage space, feature 40:20:40-split rear bench, like most other E-Class wagons. The 2017 model also comes with Merc’s whole suite of passive safety and driver aids.

Under the hood sits Mercedes’ latest twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6, good for around 329hp and 354 lb-ft of twist, which isn’t likely to be the top-spec engine. Mercedes-Benz does have a habit of even sending the E-Class Wagon to the AMG finishing school, making one of the meanest grocery getters money can buy. So it wouldn’t be far-fetched to anticipate a potential possibility for an E43 AMG and an E63 AMG in wagon form.
