There’s a reason why the Nurburgring Nordschleife is colloquially referred to as “The Green Hell.” It’s the world’s most daunting, most difficult, and most complex closed race circuit in the history of mankind and puts everyone who chooses to tackle it to the test–even professional race car drivers.
So as you’d expect, when lesser experienced individuals try and lap the infamous Nordschleife, things tend to go quite a bit more awry. This latest video bit is no different and above all, really sad.
Crashes are no stranger to the Nurburgring, as there are countless videos on YouTube, and even a channel, dedicated entirely to people f*cking up on the ‘Ring. Entertaining they may be, but when it comes to cars automotive society loves as whole, it gets quite a bit more difficult to watch.
In this case, a beloved and rare BMW 1-Series M Coupe was caught in a collision, sadly with one of the many protective guardrails on the ‘Ring. Normally, I’d sit back and ROFL my way through the video as it’s extremely entertaining to watch people screw up. But not when it’s a car like the 1-Series M Coupe, which admittedly can be a handful if you have no idea what you’re doing.
