The new Cadillac CTS-V is pretty much out, all 640hp and 630 lb-ft of torque, meaning it really isn’t that much of a slouch at all.
But apparently, it’s still not enough for Cadillac to be satisfied since Automobile Magazine heard from a “well-placed source” that they’re working on an even more powerful, harder-edged version of the CTS-V.
Basically, it’s being pegged as a move to make the CTS-V more future proof against the next-generation BMW M5 and Mercedes-AMG E63 AMG, since both of those are nearing the end of their product life cycles.
Cadillac didn’t say how much more power they’d be able to squeeze from the CTS-V, but the said inside spoke of the supercharged V8’s untapped potential.
As the CTS-V comes from the factory, it can hit 62 MPH in just 3.7 seconds while topping out at around 200 MPH.
