It’s really hard these days to get excited about crossovers, but interestingly, the new second-generation Mazda CX-9 isn’t one to not get excited about because the CX-9 has always proved to the world the soccer dadism and crossover don’t exactly have to mean the end of the world.
With the new model here to succeed the original success, Mazda officially announced the price for the 2016 CX-9 to start at $31,520 here in the states.
Being a Mazda, it’s packaged to come with a lot of goodies and kit as standard with the entry-level model coming with special fabric seats, a standard rear-view camera, and Mazda’s Connect infotainment system with a seven-inch display as standard.
The next level up would be the CX-9 Touring, which checks a lot more boxes on the options list as standard, naturally, as it costs more than the base model at $35,970. Next on the roster brings up the CX-9 Grand Touring, starting at $40,170, adding more to the standard package. The top-spec model would be the new $44,015 CX-9 Signature, and that obviously comes fully loaded with every option made available for the CX-9.
Power is supplied by a brand-new 2.5L turbocharged four-banger with 250hp and 310 lb-ft of twist with a six-speed automatic driving either the front or all four wheels.
