Jaguar is hopping on to the long-wheelbase trend with the all-new second-generation XF midsize luxury sports sedan by adding an extended version for Chinese customers only.
Perfect for the market who loves to be chauffeured about, the XFL joins the Mercedes-Benz E-Class extended with models from other companies apparently on the way.
When compared to the standard XF sedan, the XFL increases in length by 5.5 inches, providing as much as 6.1 extra inches in rear legroom. Rear occupants are also greeted with eight-inch seat-mounted screens integrated into the front headrests.
Otherwise, mechanically, the XFL doesn’t change much when compared to the XF, except at the wheelbase.
That said, the same line of engines for the XF are destined for the XFL, including a 2.0L turbocharged four-banger in two forms, with 197hp and 236hp on tap, and a top-spec 3.0L supercharged V6 with 335hp. All are mated to a ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic.
